He was predeceased by: his wife Marianne S. Slifer (Dankel); his parents, Russell E. Slifer and Anna Gross (Frankenfield-Slifer); and his siblings, Lloyd E. Slifer and Bernadine Loch.
He is survived by: his stepparent Montford H. Gross; his children, Matthew R. Slifer (Greta) of Allentown, Daniel J. Slifer (Robin L.) of Emmaus and Joanne L. Frankunas (Steven) of Kresgeville; and his sister-in-law Joan Mayo of Whitehall. He is also survived by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, many nieces, and nephews.
