It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty A. McDowell of Altoona, Pennsylvania, born in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, who passed away on April 21, 2024, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Charles E. Pennington and Edith Pennington (Corman); her husband Charles R. McDowell Sr.; her children, Linda Marlowe, Charles McDowell Jr. and Terry McDowell; her great grandchild Leah Johnson; and her siblings, Helen Fleming and Donald Pennington.

She is survived by : her daughters, Marsha Johnson (Gary) and Tracy Novack; her grandchildren, Jason Potter (Sasha), James Novack (Lindsey), Tyler Novack (Daniel Adams), Matt Johnson (Christina) and Lori Stuby (Joe); her great grandchildren, Olivia, Ellie, Ryan, Bridget, Joshua, Sophia, Chase and Jack; and her son-in-law William Marlowe. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Leslie E. Axe Funeral Home (1520 4th St, Altoona, PA 16601). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 8:00 PM at the same location.
