He was predeceased by: his parents, Chalmers Barr and Margaret Barr (Smith); and his wife Barbara A. Hazenstab. He is survived by: his sons, Matthew L. Barr (Kristin) of Lewisburg and James T. Barr of Pittsburgh; his grandchildren, Brennen, Brock and Beatrix; and his sister Nancy Ammerman.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home (2309 Broad Ave, Altoona, PA 16601). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
