He was predeceased by : his siblings, Francena Johnson, William McTigue, Harold McTigue and James McTigue; his siblings-in-law, Robert Johnson, Thomas Neugabauer, Ernest Campbell, Jr., Thomas Wolfe and Janet McTigue; and his nephews, Michael Johnson and Brad Campbell.

He is survived by : his wife Nancy J. Campbell; his son John M. McTigue, Jr. (Laurie) of Altoona; his granddaughters, Erika Scheffer (Wes) of Fairfax, VA and Holly Scheffer (Brandt) of Seattle, WA; his siblings, Barbara Neugabauer of Frederick, MD, Deanna Ernest (Frank) of Lynchburg, VA and David McTigue of Lakemont; and his sisters-in-law, Sandra McTigue, Shirley McLaughlin (Jim), Sarah Wolfe and Mary Campbell. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Due to severe allergies, the family requests no flowers, but rather a memorial donation may be made to Mardorf United Methodist Church, 3429 Juniata Gap Road, Altoona, PA 16601 or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
