She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Helsel and Anna Helsel (Kifer). She is survived by: her children, Jamie McDuffie (Jay) of Birmingham, AL, Michael Shaffer (Theresa) of LaGrange, GA, Kevin Shaffer (Michelle) of Dallas and Susan Furrer (Paul) of Altoona; her grandchildren, Shannon Shaffer-Shannon (Ryan), Dillon Shaffer, Sarina Newell (Simms), Alaina Bonnet, Siera Shaffer and Matthew Furrer; her great grandchildren, Kailah Fall-Hood (Tristen), Cameron Shannon and Perrin Newell; and her sister Kay Merritts of Hollidaysburg.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Stevens Mortuary Inc. (1421 8th Ave, Altoona, PA 16602). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Stevens Memorial Chapel.
