The memory of Steven Thompson of Altoona, Pennsylvania, who passed away on September 10, 2025 at the age of 75, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Thompson and Marian Thompson (Hess); his in-laws, Ralph and Marion Lacorato; his brother David Thompson; his siblings-in-law, Ralph Lacorato and Joanna Lacorato; and his grandson Jack Grassmyer.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy (Lacorato); his children, Robert Thompson (Stephanie) and Cassie Grassmyer (James); his grandchildren, Emma, Dillen Thompson, Rio (Jake), Dayton and Oaklee Grassmyer; his sisters-in-law, Susan Thompson and Judy Lacorato; and his nephew Sam Lacorato (Anneke).

Visitation was held on Monday, September 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc. (501 N 6th Ave, Altoona, PA 16602). A prayer was held on Monday, September 15th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Steve's name to UPMC Children's Hospital Foundation in his grandson Jack Grassmyer's memory.
