It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vera Lioy (Altoona, Pennsylvania), who passed away on November 5, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Vera Lioy to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Pross and Vera Pross (Dean); her grandparents, Edgar and Alberta Dean; her husband Daniel Lioy; and her siblings, Robert, Richard Dean and Norma Wolf.
She is survived by: her daughter Kimberly Nakach of Port Charlotte, FL; her granddaughters, Ashley Nakach and Abigail Barnes (Mahki) of Altoona, PA; her great grandchildren, Wrennley McGowan, Evander and Etta Jane Barnes; and her niece Sue Wolf.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Santella Funeral Home (1106 8th Ave, Altoona, PA 16602). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 21st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Mount Carmel Catholic Church (Calvary Cemetery) (806 11th St, Altoona, PA 16602).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Vera's memory may be made to The Central Pennsylvania Humane Society.
