He was predeceased by: his parents, George Mangol and Helen Mangol (Kuzma); and his son Michael Stephen. He is survived by: his wife Leona A. (Niebauer); his sons, James Christian Mangol (Shannon) and Matthew Stephen (Carrie); and his siblings, George and Virginia. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren.

“I was a student of Mr. Mangol's at Central. He was my first homeroom teacher as a brand new freshman and was my teacher for 2 of the 4 years I took German. I knew him as dedicated and hard-working - even becoming certified in French. I also have memories of him bringing his son, Jim. I had a chance to get to know Jim when the 2 of us had a SCUBA class together at Temple, and again when he was a personal trainer at my mother's gym. My sincere condolences. - Eric Wolfe 247”
