He was predeceased by: his parents, Krishnan Neilliate and Mythili Courundath; and his brothers, Ghangadharan, Sadhanandan and Ravindran.
He is survived by: his wife Dr. Jayalakshmi Shyamalan; his siblings, Venugopal and Daya; his children, Veena, Bill Loftus and Bhavna Shyamalan; his grandchildren, Isaac, Mia, Devi, Lucas, Saleka, Ishana and Shivani; and his great grandchildren, Sage and Ronan.
