He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie Hovanec and Michael Hovanec; his former wife Ruth M. Hovanec; his brother Michael Hovanec; and his siblings-in-law, Alberta Hovanec, Thomas Foley and Joseph Zoller.
He is survived by: his wife Blanche C. Hovanec; his son Robert M. Hovanec (Francine); his sisters, Shirley Foley and Dolley Zoller; his grandchildren, Robert C. Hovanec (Carlee) and Kristen H. Leckey (Kenneth); and his great grandchildren, Robert "Rex" Hovanec, Kenneth P. Leckey IV, Rhys T. Hovanec, Andrew R. Leckey and Caroline F. Leckey. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Alvarez-Hahn Funeral Services and Cremation (547 8th St, Ambridge, PA 15003). A prayer will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 9:45 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish/Good Samaritan Church (725 Glenwood Ave, Ambridge, PA 15003).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish/Good Samaritan Church.
