She was predeceased by: her parents, John Garshell and Anna Garshell (Havrilla); her daughter Michelle Lakitsky; and her siblings, Thomas Garshell, Paul Garshell, Mary Houser, Eleanor Brislin and Leona Martin.
She is survived by: her husband Albert Lakitsky of Andreas; her daughter Tricia Smathers (Brad) of Kittanning; her grandchildren, Madison of Pittsburgh and Michael; and her siblings, Dorothy Hess of Hummelstown, Anna Fedor of Pottsville, Elizabeth Padgett of Plant City, Joan Pinarowicz (Millard) of Mountain Top, Kathleen Marsiglio of West Hazleton, John Garshell (Nancy) of Laurel and Francis Garshell (Sharon) of Hazleton. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
