He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Murphy and Margaret Murphy; his siblings, Thomas Murphy, Jr. (Mary Jo) and Jane Bishop; and his partner Dana Trostle.

He is survived by: his daughters, Kelly and Kara; and his siblings, Gerard Murphy (Suzy), Maureen Murphy and Greg Murphy (Kathy). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
