He was predeceased by: his parents, Ross, Jr. Herr and Margaret Herr (Knight). He is survived by: his wife Sally A. Herr (Rhine); his sons, Jonathan R. Herr (Rana) of Tryon and Philip A. Herr (Kate) of Fredericksburg; his siblings, Shirley Jacobs (John), Barry Herr (Sandy), Jean Kelly (late Ken), Linda Hetrick (late Kenneth), David Herr, James Herr, Joyce Reitz (Roy), Margaret Kettering (Tom) and Judy Umberger (Eric); and his grandchildren, Nicholas, Ethan, Cyrus, Owen, Emersyn and Gabriel.
