He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Mooney and Frances E. Mooney (Elliott). He is survived by: his spouse Jean L. Mooney (Beyerly); his children, Shannon E. Mooney, Kyle C. Mooney and Erin L. Mooney; his grandsons, William J. Hower, IV and Brady E. Mooney; and his sister Martha Saul (Mooney).
