He was predeceased by: his parents, John Chikar and Helen Chikar (Wood); and his brother Roxy Chikar. He is survived by: his daughters, Laura Chikar of New Kensington, Lisa Chikar of Apollo and Linda Snyder (Mathew) of Ohio; his grandchildren, Cassandra, Sean, Shannon and Brendan; his great grandchild Russell; his nephew Jim Chikar of Apollo; and his niece Chris Gibbons (Rob).
