She was predeceased by: her parents, John Bash and Edna Bash (Morgan); her husband Charles "Chuck" Farren; her siblings, Howard, Donald, Gerald, Robert, Raymond, Helen Slicker (Bash), Grace Roudebush (Bash) and Eleanor Lants (Bash); her stepsister Ada Uptegraph (Bash); Carl Bash.
She is survived by: her son Darrell Benson (Darlene) of Wexford; her stepchildren, Jerry Benson of Tucson, AZ, Jason Stragand, Jeremy Stragand (Chelsea), Jarod Stragand (Stefanie) and Jonathan Stragand (Courtney); and her stepgranddaughters, Naomi and Laken. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 28th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Apollo Free Methodist Church (1027 PA-56, Apollo, PA 15613). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:40 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ruth's name to the Apollo Free Methodist Church.
