He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph O'Connell and Collette O'Connell (Butler); his sister Barbara Piccioni; and his brothers-in-law, Kenneth and Thomas Gobin.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia O'Connell (Gobin); his son Joseph O'Connell III; his daughter-in-law Sarah O'Connell; his grandchildren, Everly and Norah O'Connell; and his brothers-in-law, Michael Gobin (Phyllis), David Gobin and Gerard Gobin (Christine). He is also survived by nephews, and cousins.
