He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Phillip Simmons and Blanche Edith Simmons (Johnston); his son Michael Eugene Simmons; his sister Margurite Lois Shomette; and his nephew David Simmons.
He is survived by: his brother Walter Marshall Simmons; his children, Cheryl Ann Simmons, Scott Howard Simmons (Vivienne) and John Phillip Simmons (Michelle); his grandchildren, Katlyn Simmons, Kirstin Jenkins (Brennen Jenkins), Alexandra Manolakos (Dan Dicce) and Taylor Matrone (Mike Matrone); his great grandchild Jaxon Matrone; his nephews, Donald Shomette and Dale Shomette; and his dear love Patricia Ann Fusco.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Akers Funeral Home (299 Raystown Rd, Everett, PA 15537). A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Akers Funeral Home Inc. (299 Raystown Rd, Everett, PA 15537).
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gene may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
