He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Bohlayer, Sr. and Hazel Bohlayer (Gustin); his stepfather Amos Wittig; his siblings, Helen Jenkins and Fred Bohlayer, Jr.; and his daughter Patricia "Trisha" Swarthout.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Morgan Bohlayer; his son Donald, Jr.; his daughter-in-law Faith Bohlayer; his daughter Sarah; his son-in-law Ryan Giles; his grandsons, Michael Melella, Michael Giles and Micah Giles; his great grandchild Morgan Melella; and his sister Elsie Allyn.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church (703 W Pine St, Athens, PA 18810). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. The military honors was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at the TBD Tioga Point Cemetery (803 N Main St, Athens, PA 18810).
