She was predeceased by: her parents, George E. Mitchell and Wanda Mitchell (Feagles); her husband Buddy G. Childress; her daughter Charlene Childress; and her son-in-law Tim Fassett.

She is survived by: her son Jeffrey; her daughter-in-law Barbara Childress; and her daughters, Ginger Fassett and Sandra (James Rogers). She is also survived by nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial contributions be made to The American Cancer Society.
