He was predeceased by : his wife Eleanor Hayes (Mulligan); and his parents, Louis E. Hayes and Gladys Clement Hayes. He is survived by : his children, Peter Hayes of Unionville, Jonathan Hayes (Nancy) of Downingtown and Louisa Leipold (Bob) of West Chester; his grandchildren, Mark, Brian, Kathleen, Eric and Jennifer; and his great grandchildren, Julian, Caden and Lyra.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Special Olympics, for whom Lou volunteered for a number of years. Donations may be mailed to.
