He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay Richard and Anna Ruth Weidler Nissley; and his sister Mary Lee Nissley. He is survived by: his wife Melody Hoye Nissley; his son Jonas; his daughter-in-law Alyssa; his granddaughters, Sawyer and Jade; and his sisters, Judy and Joyce Nissley.
