He was predeceased by: his parent Henry Harrison; his wife Gloria Emma Cockfield (Spencer); his son Charles Ellis Cockfield, Jr.; his great grandchild Blaire Ellis Cockfield, Jr.; and his siblings, Henry, Robert, Horace, Donald, Elizabeth Brown, Carriebelle Guilford, Doris Butler and Joan Tyson.

He is survived by: his parent Ruth Cockfield (Grimsley); his children, Adriene Slaughter (Leon), Rosalind Cockfield, Bryan Cockfield and Mark Cockfield; and his sister Jean Rawl.
