He is survived by: his children, John Gilbert and Rebecca Gilbert; his former wife Dr. Shandel Spiro Gilbert; and his siblings, Herbert Gilbert (Marlene) of Boynton Beach and Joan Weissman (Jerry) of Columbus. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
