She was predeceased by: her parents, Douglass VanLuvender and Lorraine VanLuvender (Gusavage); and her sisters, Susan Murgido and Diane VanLuvender. She is survived by: her husband Charles M. Hurst; her children, Charles "Chuck" Hurst and Sherri Hurst (Scott Norman); her grandchildren, Talia, Cole, Charlotte and Olivia; her niece Amanda Morin; and her sisters, Deborah Kelly and Denise Schleicher (Bradley). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, her church family, and special friends.
