He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Gardner and Bettie Kane Gardner; and his brother Martin Gardner. He is survived by: his siblings, Diana Gardner, Scott Gardner and Dale Gardner; and his sister-in-law JoAn Pollock. He is also survived by five nephews, two nieces, two great nephews and two great nieces, along with many cousins.
