He is survived by: his wife Joan Neilson Ellis; his children, Holly Ellis (Douglas Robson) and Ryan Ellis (Carmen) of Wilmington, NC; his siblings, John Ellis (Jeannie) and Nancy Ellis; his grandson Archer Ellis; his niece Jami Cooper; and his pet Lola.
