He was predeceased by: his sister Naomi Werne. He is survived by: his daughter Joanna Werne (Rajesh Lalla); his grandson Jonathan Astrom; his daughter Emily Kennerley (James Kennerley); his grandchildren, Noah and Agatha; his sister Dr. Joellen Werne (John Smolowe); his nieces and nephews, Laura, Jacob Smolowe, Emily Amata, Ella O'Byrne, Mia O'Byrne and Adam O'Byrne; his significant other Dr. Amy Zimet; and his former wife Patricia Daly Vance.
