She was predeceased by: her parents, Stanley N. Reeder and Naomi E. Reeder (Zembower); her husband William F. Harkleroad; her brothers, Gary and Max Reeder; and her siblings-in-law, Nelgean (Alvin Nave), Dorlene (Don Williams) and Jack Alexander.
She is survived by: her children, Kerri Sarver (Larry) of Alum Bank, Kristi Cogan (Pat) of Bedford and Kevin W. Harkleroad of Bedford; her grandchildren, Ezekiel Leonard (Campbell Moss) and Elivia Leonard; and her sisters, Joyce Cook (Charles) of Everett, Janet Lesh of Manns Choice and Debbie Aldrich (Don) of New Holland. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home Inc. (214 S Juliana St, Bedford, PA 15522). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joan's name may be made to Foundations Christian Academy, 377 Upper Snake Spring Road, Everett, PA 15537.
