He was predeceased by: his parents, John Whitfield and Shirley Lynn Whitfield (Helsel); his wife Debra Jane Whitfield (Hanks); and his sister Bonnie Whitfield. He is survived by: his son John Whitfield (Amanda); his grandchildren, Dakota and Johnny Whitifield; and his sisters, Patty Thomas (Lon) and Jodee Fisher.
