He was predeceased by: his parents, Dean R. Heimer and Barbara Ruth McCaleb Heimer; and his sister Nydean "Beth" Irvin. He is survived by: his wife Joanne Wolfe Heimer; his children, Shana Heimer (Tom Duran) of McElhattan, PA and Colton Heimer (Kate Vaccaro) of Wayne, PA; his granddaughter Margo Millie Heimer; his sister Cynthia Karichner (Denny Grenninger); his uncle Craig Heimer; and his nephews, Colby, Adam and Brandon Irvin. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces.
