He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen Gavel and Emma Gean Gavel (McGee); and his brother Jerry. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Maust; his stepson Josiah Cook; his brother Joe Gavel (Denise); his nieces, Joni Gavel and Emily Gavel (Craig Brown); and his great-niece Dahlia Brown.
