He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Riley and Viola Webb (White); his wife Shirley Riley (Bender); his son David William Riley; his siblings, Gerald Webb, Katy Webb and Esther McGann; and his siblings-in-law, Janice Bungard and Robert Cawthern.
He is survived by: his children, John Martin Riley (Brenda) of Berlin and Leanne Heiple (Christopher) of Somerset; his daughter-in-law Kathy Yoder (Ron) of Friedens; his grandchildren, Joshua Riley (Erin), Marah Yachere (Tony) and Jacob Heiple; his great grandchildren, Bryson Yachere, Lydia Riley, Aleigha Yachere, Milo Riley and Macie Yachere; his siblings, Josephine "Jo" Cawthern, Shirley Bowman, Maxine Yommer and Eugene "Butch" Webb; his brother-in-law Lonnie Bungard; and his siblings' children, Deborah Douglass, Valerie Wright (David), Lauren Bungard and Ryan Bungard. He is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
