He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Margaret Pifer (Martinez); his children, Brian Pifer (Chrissy) and Melissa Kubiczki (Sean); his siblings, Gerald "Toby" Pifer (late Betty) and Donnie Pifer; his stepbrother John "Tracy" Miller; and his grandchildren, Zach, Karissa, Sydney and Kylah.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the VA Hospital in Oakland.
