He was predeceased by: his son Guy Joseph Buttillo; his daughter-in-law Mary Ann; and his siblings, Louise Minarik, Richard and John.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Frances Buttillo (De Leon); his son Carl J. Buttillo, Jr. of Bethlehem; his grandchildren, Andrew (Nicole), Sarah (Rod) and Brendan (Katie); and his great grandchildren, Elijah, Micah, Nina and Phoebe.
