He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas McMurtrie and Dorothy McMurtrie (Schimmel); his son Daniel Jason McMurtrie; and his siblings, Thomas, Lewis, James and Melody.
He is survived by: his wife Connie (Petrie); his daughter Nicole McMurtrie (Andrew Pudliner); and his grandson Augie.
