Ismael Torres Obituary

Ismael E. Torres, age 76, of Bethlehem, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Lehigh Valley Hospital- Muhlenberg. He was born February 9, 1946 in Puerto Rico, the son of the late Juan Bautista Torres Lugo and Maria Echevarria Figueroa.

Sam worked for Verizon for many years before retiring and becoming a fixer around the house. His hobbies included gardening, golf, tinkering around the garage, and tending to his coy pond. He loved the lottery, especially his scratch-offs. He enjoyed car shows, the holidays, the beach, dancing, and was an avid collector of baseball cards and many other things. He was also a doodler and a writer. He was known as a social butterfly, a diner hopper, and most of all a gentleman.

Sam is survived by daughter, Sandra Solla; two sons, Ismael Samuel Torres, Jr. and Koury Jude Torres; seven grandchildren, Joshua Vargas, Chelsea Torres, Sara Torres, Isaac Montz-Torres, Analyse Montz-Torres, Lusaydize Torres, and Koura Montz-Torres; two great-granddaughters Milani Torres, and Jelissa Vargas; and four siblings, Juan, Gabino, Yolanda, and Dionisio Torres-Echevarria from Puerto Rico; and other family members.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Melvin Torres Echevarria and son, Ismael Torres, Jr., and his wife of over 30 years, Jean Torres.

Professional Services are entrusted to Weber Funeral Homes, P.C. in Allentown. Services are private and at the discretion of the family.
