He was predeceased by: his parents, William Tone and Victoria Tone (Salvaggio); his sisters, Mary Kunkel and Lynn Starke; his brother-in-law John A. Hearn; and his great-nephew Henry Donnelly.
He is survived by: his wife Helen E. "Pumpkin" Tone (Higgins); his son Lieutenant Colonel Daniel P. Tone (Lily) of Clarksburg, MD; his siblings, Francis Tone (Carol) of Easton, John Tone (Debbie VanHorn) of Bethlehem, Michael Tone of Emmaus, Gerald Tone (Kathleen) of Pottsville, Steven Tone (Amy Moss) of Easton, Donna Merring (Michael) of Easton and Colleen Ziegenhorn (Mark) of Easton; his brothers-in-law, Earl Kunkel of Jim Thorpe and Richard Starke; his grandsons, Nathan Tone and Colton Tone; and his stepgranddaughter Sonya Fela. He is also survived by 25 nephews and nieces: 36 great nephews and nieces.
