He was predeceased by : his parents, Paul McKernan and Margaret McKernan (Hems); his son Jamieson M. McKernan; his stepson Adam Mumma; and his brothers, Paul and George McKernan.

He is survived by : his wife Susan E. McKernan (Lindenmuth); his son Christopher McKernan (Melissa Miller) of Mt. Penn; his stepson Joseph Mumma, Jr. (Kristina) of Bucktown, PA; his grandchildren, Liz and Adam Mumma; and his pets, Maddie and Abby.
