It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph J. Devaney Jr. of Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on July 17, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph J. Devaney and Elizabeth Devaney (Featherstone); and his wife Carol J. Marino. He is survived by: his children, Joseph Devaney of Silver Springs, MD, Michael Devaney (Michele) of Middletown, PA and Theresa Wirth (Kirk) of Bloomsburg; his granddaughters, Isabella Devaney of Middletown and Olivia Devaney of Silver Spring, MD; and his sister Anne Metzo.

“I knew Joe and Carol from the early 70s when we all lived in White Deer Pa. I just found out about their passing and my wife and I offer our condolences to the family.. We live in Arizona and usually find out these things much too late. I worked with Joe when he was stationed at Milton, a great cop and a true gentleman and Caroln was just a sweetheart to be around. They now share afterlife with our God.”
