He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Michael J. Matzko and Ruth Matzko (Peck); and his sister Mary Frances Matzko. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Kindler Matzko; his children, Dr. Michael John Matzko and Dr. Michelle Matzko, MD; his grandchildren, Reed and Summer; his sisters, Katherine (John S. Mulka) of Bloomsburg and Dr. R. Christine (John Greedan) of Ancaster, Ontario; his cousin John Parker (Beverly) of Berwick; and his brother-in-law Dr. Jeffrey Kindler (Cheryl) of Lehighton. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Elk Lake Development Association's boat and safety programs, in support of the lake and community he loved.
