Vernal left this world on April 26, 2026 at the age of 93, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his spouse Elpha "Teena" Patton Richardson; and his parents, Edgar Lee and Olive Richardson. He is survived by: his children, Ernest Richardson (Tara), Patricia Niemann (Greg) and Edward Scott Richardson; his grandchildren, Evan (Patricia), Valerie, Derek (Caroline), Clare (Zach), David and Liam; and his great grandchildren, Sophie, Theo, Theodore and Penelope.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 31st 2026 at 3:00 PM at the St. Clare's Episcopal Church (777 Ledford Rd, Blairsville, GA 30512).
