As Walter departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Walter. Though Walter may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his wife Alicia Atlin Stokes; his parents, William Cheston Stokes, Jr. and Mary McCook Stokes; and his sister Mary Stokes Phillips. He is survived by: his sons, David William Stokes, Sean Atlin Stokes and Timothy Anderson Stokes. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Abington Presbyterian Church (1082 Old York Rd, Abington, PA 19001). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
