He was predeceased by: his father Carl Herbst; his brothers, Glenn and Gary; and his grandson Joshua. He is survived by: his mother Joan E. Herbst (Quaintance); his children, Scott Herbst (Christine), Gregory Herbst (Autumn), Jonathan Herbst (Cassie), Jeff Herbst (Darla) and Jennifer Clough (Keith); and his sister Patty. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren: one great grandchild.
