He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliviera Walter Desiderio and Antonetta Desiderio (Sanso); and his sisters, Marie Marling, Nettie Quinn and Rita Powers.

He is survived by: his children, Karen Heidelbach (James), Susan Matrone (Michael) and Walter Desiderio, Jr. (Cindy); his grandchildren, Michael, Lindsay, Bailey and Kelsey; and his close friend Dottie Hinde.
