He was predeceased by: his parents, Blaine Duane and Evelyn Jane Barnes (Grove); his son Steven; his brother Donald "Herk" Bartlebaugh; and his nephew Joseph Figula.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara J. Bartlebaugh (Gleason); his children, Rick Bartlebaugh (Teri Michele), Tammy O'Neil (Pat) and Sheila Hiner (Calvin); his daughter-in-law Shannon Bartlebaugh (late Steven); his grandchildren, Amber, Rich, Patrick, Hannah, Zach and Evan; and his sisters, Jane Figula and Betty Stady.
