He was predeceased by: his parents, John M. Chartreau and Clara Chartreau (Cicerello); his stepmother Dorothy Chartreau; and his brother James Chartreau. He is survived by: his wife Edith V. Chartreau (Mackey); his sons, David J. Chartreau (Julie) of Limestone and James M. Chartreau (Dorothea) of Willow Street, PA; his grandchildren, Ethan Chartreau and Olivia Chartreau; his sisters, Donna Whitford of Bradford and Sally McClinsey of North; and his stepbrother Robert Hober (Sylvia) of Wellsville, NY.

Memorial contributions if desired may be made to Parkinson Foundation of Western PA 6507 Wilkins Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15217, the First United Methodist Church, or the Lewis Run Volunteer Fire Department.
