She was predeceased by: her parents-in-law, Grace Gathigia Mathenge and William Mathenge Kaumu; and her sibling Karimi Nduthu. She is survived by: her parents, Joseph Nduthu Maathai and Veronica Wambui Nduthu; her husband David Ndegwa Mathenge; her sons, Clinton Ndegwa, Joseph Ndegwa and Kaumu Ndegwa; her granddaughter Avayah Felistas Mathenge; and her siblings, Peter Nduthu, Dominic Nduthu, James Nduthu, Rose Nduthu, Petronilla Nduthu, Asunta Nduthu, Lucy Nduthu, Antony Nduthu, Muriithi Nduthu, Ladislaus Nduthu, Gabriel Nduthu and Patricia Nduthu. She is also survived by many loving nephews and nieces.
