He was predeceased by: his parents, Kathryn Mandl (Downing) and Edward C. Mandl; his brothers, Charles, David and Lawrence; his wife Ruth Mandl; his children, Edward J. Mandl, Jr., Linda Lee Mandl Dowdall and Mary Lou Mandl Pasersky; his granddaughter Lisa Pasersky Parks; and his great grandchild Jacob McCole.
He is survived by: his children, Patricia Anne Mandl Knowles (Tom), Michael Jay Mandl (Nancy) and David Jason Mandl (Geren). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
