He was predeceased by : his parents, Thomas Conaghan and Frances Conaghan; his daughter Eileen M. Conaghan; and his siblings, Charles Conaghan and Sarah McGee (Michael).

He is survived by : his wife Anna Conaghan; his children, Frances A. Genthert (John), Linda S. Banes (late Edward) and George J. Conaghan, Jr. (Kelly); his grandchildren, Edward Banes, Kaitlyn Siolek (Armand), Mark Banes (Peggy), Jonathan Genthert, Zachary Kline, Daniel Genthert, John Banes, Annemarie Banes, Thomas Banes, James Conaghan and Alice Conaghan; and his brothers, Thomas Conaghan (Mary) and Andrew Conaghan (Nancy).
